PLAYING MULTIPLE ALTS ON SUNDERING SHADOWS

We understand that you may want to play multiple characters (aka alts) to enjoy the game. However, having multiple alts involved on multiple sides of a conflict can be confusing and create an unfair advantage, or the perception of an unfair advantage. In order to keep it fun and fair for everyone, we have written the following alt guidelines:

The Fade Away rule has been put into place to allow players to abstain from situations that make them uncomfortable without compromising their character's ideals.

When can I use Fade Away?

Fade Away can be used when you accidently happen upon a scene that you would feel uncomfortable getting involved in, either by walking in on it, by scrying it, or by being contacted by another character.

A fade to black is called when someone is uncomfortable playing out a scene in detail. It must be respected and complied with immediately.

If you are uncomfortable in a RP situation, consider whether it is possible for your character to remove themselves from the situation and allow others to continue. If this is not an option you may, at any time and for any reason, call a fade to black. Other players and immortals must comply and immediately end the current scene. This …

PK (player killing) encompasses any player vs player (PvP) scenario, not only those that lead to a death. These rules have been put in place to make the game fairer and more enjoyable for those that participate in player vs player events. Read them carefully before engaging in PK.
ROLEPLAYING ON SUNDERING SHADOWS

Sundering Shadows's interpretation of roleplaying

Roleplaying is the total assumption of a role separate from that of your own. This implies that you become the person you are playing. When entering the virtual world of Sundering Shadows you become the character you are playing completely, assuming their attributes, including intelligence, age, etc. You should also completely leave the real world behind. Forget who you are

SKILL LEVELS

To help you roleplay your skills on Sundering Shadows, we have written the following guidelines.

General

Your total points in a skill determines your prowess with said skill. See <skills> for how to apply them. In general, a maxed-out skill will give you a good chance of success in areas appropriate to your level, or vs players of a similar level. Likewise, a less than maxed-out out skill will lower your chances of success in such areas/instances.
