CALLAMIR'S SPARROWS
“To bold hearts and lucky flights. May fear find us too quick and chains find us too clever.” — The Toast of the Bold.
Founded in the wake of Callamir's ascension during the chaotic years after the Silence of 737 SG, the Sparrows began as a loose web of rogues, tavern-folk, former smugglers, and message-runners who survived by their wits in the shifting power vacuums of that time. These individuals found kinship in the stories of Callamir, who had cheated fate and the high mages alike to rise as a god. It is said the name was inspired by one of Callamir's friends in life, a bard known among Lady Luck's followers as the Lady's Sparrow.
Under the guise of a messenger's guild, the Sparrows formalized in 742 SG within the alleys and attic-lofts of Shadow following the failed coup of Commander Durant. The founding members believed that true freedom must be fought for not only with swords, but with secrets, lies, and well-placed truths. Their allegiance was to Callamir, and through him, to the idea that cleverness and courage were tools as divine as any blade or prayer.
The Sparrows are not mere criminals, but informants, saboteurs, and agents of freedom. They hoard information, uncover plots, and foil the oppressive ambitions of tyrants, devils, and necromancers. Members are encouraged to live well, laugh often, and always leave a back door open.
