When a psionic character manifests concealing amorpha, he draws ectoplasm from the Astral Plane to create a sort of armor. While it does not offer any physical protection, the translucent armor does make it more difficult to see where exactly the psion's body lies, granting him protection by fooling the eyes of the onlooker.
