The coastal city of Serith still bears the scars of a vicious Oni onslaught that transpired several decades ago, during the island's betrayal by a notorious local mercenary faction, The Hounds. Until recently, the island was shrouded by magic to assure that another attack was not imminent, while the survivors struggled to rebuild their lives, barely managing to scrape by. Since its unveiling, and with the combined efforts of adventurers from around the world, the newly discovered island has entered an era of regrowth. The current size of Serith including the Port is considered to be a village.

The Hounds, led by the infamous Sienna Kava, remain a constant threat, casting a shadow over what should be a prosperous time for the people of Serakii.
