| The Crimson Templars stand as a resolute line of defense against the legions of dark and powerful abyssal and infernal invaders upon the realm. Drenched in the crimson hue of self sacrifice, they have devoted their lives to the cause of relentless defense of the world, to be the blade that strikes against the tide of darkness when others falter. In the sacred halls of the Crimson Templars, these stalwart warriors are trained to face the heartless legions of the Abyss and Hells, an often times thankless job, as most of the world is weak-minded and easily swayed by the seductive whispers of their enemies. Many demons and devils will appear as beautiful, innocent, outwardly likeable or sympathetic in nature in order to gain the trust of the weak-willed. Even their own allies will often waiver to the insidious guile of these creatures, and the Crimson Templar must stand alone against the darkness. | The Crimson Templars, however, do not go unprepared into this fight. Only the most ardent and faithful are accepted to even attempt to join these exalted ranks. Those that are chosen will undergo countless trials, testing their physical endurance, combat effectiveness, and most of all, the strength of their mind and soul to resist the temptations of their chosen enemies. Needless to say, most will not pass muster. Many will perish along the way. It is only the few, the strongest that will be inducted to begin their actual training. These chosen few will have been tested for anything in their past which would create a weakness to darkness and they would be absolutely pure of heart. |

| ==== Faith ==== | The Crimson Templar is a relentless seeker, a hunter delving into the darkest and most foul places of the world to root out dark-aligned outsiders and their cults, wherever they may be. They are shock troops, often striking in ambush when their quarry is at its most vulnerable. They use guile against guile, deception where it is needed, and righteous furor as a message to any who would heed the words of these abyssal and infernal denizens. There is no trick, no deception which will not be used to take these foul creatures down. |
| Faith is at the very center of the Crimson Templars, it is the beacon that tethers them to the light, and the fire that fuels their resolve. While all templars share a common set of principles, they are also expected to uphold the charge of their deity. This may cause some friction between the groups, but they are trained to look past these differences and unite as one when duty calls. To guard themselves from corruption, a Crimson Templar finds ways to center themselves and connect with their faith, be it through consultations, meditation, prayers, or rituals. | |

| ==== Dogma and Principles ==== | It is thus that the Crimson Templar is a honed and focused hunter, mentally, spiritually and physically conditioned towards a singular goal. They do not suffer crises of faith. They do not bend or compromise in their mission. Anyone who has made it far enough to become a Crimson Templar is essentially beyond corruption or doubt. They are wholeheartedly single-minded in their faith, their mission and their purpose. This is not a class to play if you are not willing to be unwavering. |
| A Crimson Templar is tasked with upholding the charge of their god and adhere to the following principles: | |

| * **Guardians of Innocence:** Shield the innocent and vulnerable from the taint of corruption and safeguard the purity of those we are sworn to defend. | |
| * **Purify Through Righteousness:** We purify the world through acts of righteousness and virtue. Bestow mercy only upon those capable of redemption and guide them towards salvation. | |
| * **Unity in Diversity:** We recognize that the Light transcends religious boundaries and unifies us in our shared purpose. | |

| The Crimson Templars were formed in the wake of the Long Night and dedicated themselves to ensuring that such a calamity would never threaten the world again. Taking inspiration from the Deva Mal’Kor, Holy Phoenix of Jarmila, the Crimson Templars fight all threats to the world, both within and without. The most experienced among them are veterans of the Long Night, and originally consisted only of followers of Jarmila and Kreysneothosies. Once the Celestial Light imbued her followers with power and the faith of Edea fully established itself, the Crimson Templars have extended to include them. It may be possible for an individual of a different light-aligned faith to be accepted into their ranks, but it would require said individual to prove themselves first. | The Crimson Templars are the militant arm of several faiths, including Kreysneothosies, Edea, and Jarmila. Their code, their aesthetics, their methods are based on divinity and fire. Fire plays a big part in their rituals, to include branding and tattooing themselves with protective runes, attaining resistance or immunity to fire or using fire as their choice method of purification. With that said, they do allow members of other faiths to join so long as they adhere to the tenets and principles of the Crimson Templars. |
