These kobolds are the remains/offshoot of the Solace tribe, who were originally purged after their major attack to destroy the gnomish township. Retreating deeper into the Echoes mountains, they have mined and bred extensively and now take up vast corridors beneath the mountains. They are cautious to keep to the far eastern reaches, however, as clashes with the dwarves of the Echoes proper have ended badly for them in the past.
