| Azha serves as a largely disorganized northern frontier of the [[tsarven_empire|Empire]] under direct control of the Emperor; however, the Emperor allows [[sindh|Sindh]] free reign in administrating the southern part of the territory on his behalf. It was once the epicenter of the Empire’s failed campaign for permanent expansion into the North, but now has backslid into a generally sleepy corner of the Empire that is unfortunate enough to have to deal with the Northern “barbarians” and meddlesome, freelance adventurers on a daily basis. It maintains neutral to friendly ties with most of its nearest neighbors, with the notable exception of [[tharis|Tharis]], with whom it is often at odds over disputes of land and trade. | Formerly an outpost of the Tsarven Empire, Azha has, in more recent times has become an independent city ruled over by military governors from the Church of Kreysneothosies. Azha has been instrumental in aiding several recent events, such as fighting the rising of Ashra, and protecting the ritual to awaken Edea, through a local contingent of the Blades of the Emperor. With the loss of much of the support from the Tsarven Empire, the city has turned inward, looking to improve their relations with the local populace and grow the following of the Church of Kreysneothosies. |
